Backwash filter principle

A backwash filter is a commonly used water treatment device that cleans and removes contaminants that accumulate in the filter medium by flowing water in reverse. The principle is as follows:

1.Filtration: When the water passes through the backwash filter, the pollutants are trapped in the filter medium, and the clean water enters the system through the filter medium.

2.Pollutant accumulation: Over time, pollutants accumulate in the filter media. These pollutants can be suspended particles, sediments, oils, etc.

3.Backwash: When the pollutants in the filter medium accumulate to a certain extent, backwash operations are needed to remove them. Backwashing is achieved by the reverse flow of water.

4.Reverse flow: When the backwashing operation begins, the backwashing water passes through the filter medium in the opposite direction. Water flowing in the opposite direction washes contaminants out of the filter media.

5.Cleaning pollutants: The reverse flow of water will carry pollutants away from the filter medium through the scouring effect, and then discharge the system through the discharge pipe.

6.Recovery filtration: After backwashing operation, the filter medium is restored to the initial clean state, and the filtration operation can continue.

Backwash filters are widely used in industrial and domestic water treatment, which can remove impurities and pollutants in water effectively and ensure the water quality clean and safe.
